Project Title: Maintenance dredging, Ellsworth Marina
Project description and location: Proposed spring or fall maintenance dredging of 810 cubic yards of accumulated sediment between existing docks of Ellsworth Marina constituting emergent wetlands to improve boat access to marina docks with a water depth of 2 feet, to reduce sediment resuspension from boat operation, and to improve marina security by increasing the visibility of docked boats. Prior to dredging, a floating turbidity curtain will be installed and maintained until the water is clear. A long reach excavator would operate from the adjacent upland parking area and release the dredged material into dump trucks with locked tailgates. A fringe of wetlands between the boat and adjacent parking area will be retained. The material is proposed to be disposed in the existing lawn area with silt fences, and after drying, will be graded and seeded. No new or additional docks or boats are proposed.
