Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to maintenance dredge the existing cooling system intake lagoon and discharge canal outwash area. 51,500 cubic yards of material is proposed to be hydraulically dredged from the intake lagoon. The material will be dewatered and temporarily stockpiled on the west side of the west jetty for use as beach nourishment along Asharoken Beach. 12,300 cubic yards of material is proposed to be hydraulically dredged from the discharge canal outwash area. The material will be dewatered and stockpiled on the KeySpan Energy property to be used as cover/protection of the nearshore cable field. The project is located on the Long Island Sound at the KeySpan Energy Northport Power Generating facility in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County.

Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to upgrade the existing substandard box culverts by installing/replacing/extending culvert pipes, installing rip rap channel protection, and constructing new head walls and retaining walls. Roadway improvements include regrading, repaving, and installation of catch basins. Downstream turbidity will be mitigated by using an upland leaching ring energy dissipator and dispersion apron to settle suspended sediments from the dewatering operation with hay bales placed along the foot of the apron to remove excess sediments prior to reintroduction into the creek. The project site is located 500 ft. west of the Grant Avenue and Moffit Blvd. intersection; specifically, the northern portion of the easterly branch at Orowoc Creek (Doxsee's Brook) from Moffit Blvd. south to the Long Island Railroad tracks (Pardee's Pond), Town of Islip, County of Suffolk.
