Herkimer County - The New York State Department of Transportation, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Rte. 28: Girl Scout Road 0.9 mi. North, Adirondack Railroad over Rte. 28, Town of Webb, Herkimer County, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reconstruction, and partial realignment of NYS Route 28 beginning at the northerly intersection of Route 28 and Girl Scout Road in the Town of Webb, in Herkimer County, and progressing 1.45 km to the north. Included in the project will be the replacement of Adirondack Railroad bridge over NYS Route 28 adjacent to the Thendara Station near the northern terminus of the project. The purpose of the project is to obtain the minimum required vertical and horizontal clearance at the railroad bridge and to improve geometric features of the highway contributing to a loss of control accident pattern in the vicinity of the bridge. The project is located at NYS Route 28 beginning at the northerly intersection of Route 28 and Girl Scout Road in the Town of Webb in Herkimer County and progressing 1.45 km to the north.
