Project Title: "The Garden High Peaks Trailhead" and "Marcy Airfield" in the Town of Keene

Project description and location: New commercial uses comprised of a temporary operation of a shuttle bus service between the "Garden High Peaks Trailhead" and a parking area to be constructed at the southern end of "Marcy Field," as well as establishment of a fee for parking at "The Garden." The shuttle bus will operate every one-half hour on Fridays, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., May 19 through October 16. Self contained portable toilets and a portable hiker information kiosk will be installed at the parking area at the Marcy Field Parking Area. This project was previously approved for a one-year period by Agency Permit 99-58. That permit has expired and the applicants seek another one-year permit for the project. The Town of Keene has also submitted an updated Master Plan for future land use and development at the town-owned portion of the project site . In addition to the proposed project, the master plan identified various other uses including a bike safety path, placement of additional self-contained toilets, restoration of an existing historic building, relocation of a historic schoolhouse onto the site, removal of the existing town highway department garage and construction of a footbridge over the AuSable River.

Project Title: Crazy Creek Campground/Ula P. Cameron

Project description and location: The action involves a new Campground and new commercial use within designated recreational river area: Applicant proposes a 66 site campground serviced by two shower buildings (24' x 40' each) and on-site water and wastewater treatment systems. The campground will be operated from May through October. Campground restrictions will not allow campers to occupy a site for more than 120 days. Additionally, no campers or recreational vehicles will be rented at or stored at the site. The project is located in Warren County, Town of Thurman, CR 2.

Positive Declaration

Albany County and Saratoga County - The New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation, as lead agency has determined that the proposed adoption and Implementation of a Master Plan for Peebles Island State Park may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the adoption and implementation of a Master Plan for Peebles Island State Park. The draft plan includes proposals for limited recreational development including a visitor center, improved parking and park administration offices. The north bridge to the park will be reopened to vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Use of the western area of the park will be primarily trails related. The portion of the park on Van Schaick Island would offer low impact river access camping, shoreline access for fishermen and marine related facilities in the area of the Matton Shipyard. The project is located at Peebles Island State Park at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers in the Town of Waterford, Saratoga County and the City of Cohoes, Albany County.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Washington County - The Easton Town Planning Board, as lead agency has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Krise Major resubdivision #1-2000. There will be a public hearing for the Krise Major resubdivision #1-2000 Draft Environmental Impact Statement on Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at 8:00 pm, and a public hearing on the Krise major resubdivision plat and application #1-2000 at 8:15 pm; both at Burton Hall, Easton, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until April 11, 2000. The action involves the subdivision for a single family residence along a right-of-way from Windy Hill Road to Lot 17 of the plat. The Krise property is located on the west side of Windy Hill Road at the entrance of the right-of-way. The new lot is to be located to the west of the present Krise house.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Warren County - The Lake George Parks Commission, as lead agency has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Charles Leonelli II Lake View Marina Modification. The action involves the modification to his Class A Marina permit to allow rental of up to 16 vessels and the use of two vessels for waterskiing and tubing instruction. The current permit allows the rental of 16 seasonal berthing slips. The project is located at 216 Canada St, Lake George NY 12845, Village of Lake George.
