Negative Declaration

Dutchess County - The The Hudson River Valley Greenway Communities Council, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Dutchess County Greenway Compact Implementation will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action begins the implementation of the Hudson River Valley Greenway Compact as described in Sec.44-0119 of the Environmental Conservation Law. The Compact is a voluntary strategy for regional cooperation among the 242 units of local governments in the 13-county Greenway area. The project is located in Dutchess County.

Putnam County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a new public library in the Mahopac Central School District, SED Project No. 48-01-01-06-6-017-002, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the construction of 30,000 square feet on 1.07 acre of existing property. The project is located at 668 Rt. 6 in the Town of Carmel.

Putnam County - The Town of Philipstown Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Burke & Kennedy two-lot residential subdivision, Old Albany Post Road, Town of Philipstown, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the re-subdivision of 10.182 acres into two residential lots, each having frontage on NYS Route 9D. Access to each via a newly proposed common driveway. Abandonment of existing access drive connection to NYS Route 9D. The project is located on NYS Route 9D, Town of Philipstown.

Positive Declaration and Notice of Public Scoping

Orange County - The Town of Tuxedo Town Board, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Route 17 Rezoning Petition - Sterling Forest LLC may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on April 3, 2000 at 7:30 PM at the Town Hall, Temple Drive and Hospital Road, Tuxedo. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted until April 10, 2000. The action involves the proposed rezoning of 74.3 acres of land on the westerly side of NYS Route 17 and south of the Route 17, Route 17A intersection. The project is located on the west side of Route 17 in the Town of Tuxedo.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Orange County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed construction of a New Middle / High School for the Chester Union Free School District, SED Project No. 44-02-01-02-0-009-001. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until April 10, 2000. The action involves approximately 117,000 square feet of new construction on existing property. The project is located on Hambletonian Avenue in the Village of Chester.
