THE TOWN OF GREENWOD HAS SUBMITTED A WATER SUPPLY APPLICATION AND THE SERVICE AREA INCLUDES PART OF THE HAMLET OF GREENWOOD. THE SYSTEM WILL HAVE TWO GROUNDWATER PRODUCTION WELLS NEAR BENNETTS CREEK, 11,528 FEET OF NEW WATER MAIN INCLUDING HYDRANTS AND A 220,000 GALLON STORAGE TANK. ANTICIPATED WATER USE WILL BE 55,000 GALLONS PER DAY.

Project Description:
THE APPLICANT HAS A PERMIT TO LANDSPREAD TREATED MUNICIPAL SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT SLUDGE ON FARMLAND AS PART OF A CROP PRODUCTION SYSTEM. A MODIFICATION TO THE PERMIT HAS BEEN REQUESTED TO INCLUDE SLUDGE FROM THE VILLAGE OF WARSAW IN WYOMING COUNTY. THE REQUEST INCLUDES A VARIANCE WHICH THE NYSDEC HAS ENDORSED TO REDUCE THE FREQUENCY OF THE SLUDGE ANALYSIS FROM ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS TO ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS. THE NYSDEC BELIEVES IT HAS ADEQUATE INFORMATION ON THE QUALITY OF THE SLUDGE. THE EXISTING PERMITTED LANDS ARE IN THE TOWNS OF BATH,CAMERON AND THURSTON. A DRAFT PERMIT IS AVAILABLE.
