Negative Declaration

Cattaraugus County - The Town Board of the Town of Olean, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Amendment of Local Zoning Law, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the complete revision of the local zoning law, including map changes. Some of the changes include the addition of provisions to regulate adult uses and telecommunications towers and the strengthening of provisions to regulate junk, junkyards and development in the floodplain. Site Plan Review will be required for certain types of development. The project is located in the Town of Olean.

Positive Declaration

Chautauqua County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed additions and alterations to the Brocton Central School in the Brocton Central School District, SED Project No. 06-23-01-04-0-001-006, may have a significant environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves 59,900 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 138 West Main Street in the Village of Brocton, Town of Portland.

Chautauqua County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a new Bus Garage in the Brocton Central School District, SED Project No. 06-23-01-04-5-005-001, may have a significant environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves 14,700 square feet of new construction on existing property. The project is located at School Street in the Village of Brocton, Town of Portland.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency has accepted a draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Brandon Woods Apartment Development. A public hearing on the draft EIS will be held on March 13, 2000 at 7:00 PM at the Amherst Town Hall, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville. Written comments on the draft EIS will be accepted until March 24, 2000. The action involves a proposal to construct a 168-unit apartment complex on 17.79 acres of land. Twenty one apartment buildings are proposed with 11 garages, and a clubhouse. A total of 371 parking spaces are proposed, of which 96 are in garages. Two access points are proposed; one from Sunset Court, the second from a 75 ft. extension of the existing Wegmans access road, which connects to East Robinson Road. Internal circulation is provided via a private drive that winds through the site between the two access points. A spur to the north is shown to serve the most northerly buildings. A stormwater detention pond is proposed at the southeast corner of the parcel. The project is located at 148 Sunset Court in the Town of Amherst.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Erie County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed addition and alterations to the Junior Senior High School in the Cheektowaga Central School District, SED Project No. 14-07-01-06-0-001-009. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until March 30, 2000. The action involves an addition of 74,150 square feet on existing property. The project is located at 3600 Union Road in the Town of Cheektowaga.
