Project Description:
 The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for a proposed surface discharge of 50,000 gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary wastewater into an unnamed tributary to the Hudson River (Class C) from the Maple Ridge Subdivision (formerly "The Hamlet at Hyde Park"). The proposed project involves construction of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to serve 162 proposedtownhouse units and a proposed pool bathhouse located on two parcels totaling 68.4 acres. The proposed WWTP will also serve the Hyde Park Yacht Club located on an adjacent parcel. Potable water will be supplied by the Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority (permit #3-1399-00031/00001). The project is located on the west side of US Route 9, 4000 feet south of its intersection with South Cross Road in the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County. A stormwater management plan and a draft SPDES permit are available for review and comment at the regional office.

Project Description:
 The NYS DEC has made a tentative determination to approve an application to modify the existing SPDES permit to allow the discharge of storm water from four on site Chemical Bulk Storage secondary containment areas (new outfalls 02D-02G) into the facility waste water lagoon which discharges into a class "C" section of the Ramapo River (existing outfall 002). Implementation of a pollutant minimizing program, a toxicity testing program, and short term high intensity monitoring for specified parameters are additional requirements which will be incorporated into permit conditions. Monitoring of mercury will also be added and ammonia limits will be revised. In addition, the requirements of the Discharge Notification Act will be included in the amended permit.
