Project Description:
 The proposal, in Hume Water District 1 (W.D.1), is to construct a new public water supply well to serve as a backup for the existing well and to abandon two existing springs which serve as sources of supply. This application is also for the ratification and approval of Hume W.D. 1 which was created by past actions of the Town of Hume and by its consolidation with the former Village of Fillmore water system following dissolution of that Village. The Hamlet of Hume and former Village of Fillmore areas are now served by separate distribution systems with separate sources of supply. Under this proposal the two systems will be connected and operated as one system to be supplied by the existing well and new backup well. Supplies of water in average amounts of 60,000 - 80,000 gallons per day (GPD), are now taken from the existing well in Fillmore and supplies averaging 7,000 to 11,500 GPD are taken from two springs (proposed to be abandoned), which are located near the Hamlet of Hume. There are approximately 252 and 38 existing service connections in the Fillmore and Hume systems respectively. Other proposed water system improvements associated with this project are a new water treatment facility, designed primarily for removal of iron; two new 200,000 gallon water storage tanks to be located off Mills Mills Road; and installation of approximately 22,000 linear feet of 8-inch and 12-inch diameter water line. All hydrants in the Fillmore system are proposed to be replaced and new hydrants would be installed on new 8-inch and 12-inch water mains in the Hume system and along NY Rt. 19 and County Rt. 3. The new backup well and treatment building are to be located in the Hank Miller Memorial Little League complex on the west side of Rt. 19 south of Cold Creek.

Project Description:
 The Department has prepared a draft permit and made a tentative determination to approve waste water discharges from two separate outfalls at Colden Lakes Resort, located on the north side of Heath Road, eight tenths of a mile west of the Heath Road-Center Street intersection. Outfall 0001 is a subsurface discharge from a septic tank/leach field system having a design flow of 2,575 gallons per day (GPD). This system serves a restaurant which is open year round. Outfall 002, which serves a seasonal campground, is a surface discharge from a septic tank/sand filter system having a design flow of 2,000 GPD. This system discharges to an un-named tributary of the West Branch of Cazenovia Creek identified as tributary 17-5. The tributary has a Class and Standard of B. The draft permit is available for public review and comment at the regional office.
