Project Description:
The Department has prepared a Draft Permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) and Title V of the Federal Clean Air Act Amendments and made a tentative determination to approve this application for the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility in the Town of Warwick, Orange County, New York. This facility operates three (3) 18mm btu boiler which are all fired on number (2) fuel oil. Also there are a number of exempt residential furnaces and emergency power generators. The facility has accepted fuel through-put limits to cap out of the applicability thresholds for Title V.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct an earthen dam approximately 14 feet in height, 425 linear feet in length which will create a pond 0.8 acres in size, with a design capacity of approximately 1.3 million gallons. The dam will occupy approximately 100 linear feet of an unnamed, unclassified tributary of Buck Brook (DEC#D-53-2-5-a). The proposed dam, which does not require a Dam Permit from the DEC, was designed by a license professional engineer.
