Franklin County - The New York Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency has determined that the proposed OSB Chateaugay, LLC will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposed construction and operation of a manufacturing facility to process pulpwood (primarily popular) wafers or strands into construction grade composite wood panels for the building industry. When fully operational the plant will be capable of producing upwards of 430 million square feet per year of product. The project is located approximately four-tenths of a mile south of the Village of Chateaugay, west of and adjacent to Route 374 in the Town of Chateaugay.
