Project Description:
THE DEPARTMENT HAS MADE A TENTATIVE DETERMINATION TO APPROVE THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST FOR A PERMIT MODIFICATION AT ITS NORTH NORWICH FACILITY. THE APPLICANT'S MODIFICATIONREQUEST INCLUDES ADDING TWO ADDITIONAL PROCESS LINES WHICH WILL DISCHARGE THROUGH OUTFALL 003. BOD, COD AND TSS REQUIREMENTS AT OUTFALL 003 WERE REVISED AND A SHORT TERM MONITORING PROGRAM WERE ADDED TO THE PERMIT CONSISTENT WITH JULY 1998 FEDERAL PHARMACEUTICAL EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS GUIDELINES. THE ENTIRE PERMIT HAS BEEN UPDATED, ELIMINATING AND/OR ADDING NON-CONTACT COOLING AND STORMWATER DISCHARGES. BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS AND IMPROVED WATER TREATMENT CHEMICAL (WTC) REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE PERMIT. THE APPLICANT'S FACILITY IS LOCATED ON ROUTE 12 IN THE TOWN OF NORTH NORWICH. A DRAFT PERMIT IS AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW.
