The applicant proposes to mine sand and gravel from approximately 41 acres of a 51 acre site. Up to 2.25 million cubic yards of material will be removed from the site with on-site screening of excavated sand over a 15 year period. The mining excavation will be reclaimed by backfilling with clean fill material from off site. A recycling and composting facility consisting of a receiving, processing, and composting building, a building for compost screening and storage, and offices will be located in a portion of the reclaimed area.
