Suffolk County - The Town of Smithtown Town Board, as lead agency has accepted a draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Landing Avenue Development Corporation - Change of Zone Petition # 96-3 . A public hearing on the draft EIS will be held on February 17, 2000 at the Smithtown Senior Citizen's Center, Middle Country Road, Smithtown. Written comments on the draft EIS will be accepted until February 28, 2000. The action involves the petition for a change in zone from CB to RM-GA for the purpose of constructing four two-story buildings to contain 50 garden apartments and associated facilities on a currently vacant 2.88 acre parcel of land. The project is located on the east side of Landing Avenue, north of Main Street, Town of Smithtown.
