Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to add 60 acres to the current 13.8 acre permitted Frew Run Sand and Gravel Mine. The proposal includes mining above and below the local ground water table on both the new area and part of the existing mine area, resulting in a 39 acre lake up to 50 feet deep. Mine faces are planned to be reclaimed by sloping, terracing and revegetating to grasses. The remainder of the site would be reclaimed to land suitable for farming. Material processing is currently by a wash plant that recycles process water. No changes in material processing, stockpiling and the haulageway, have been proposed. The existing mine is located north of Frew Run Road, Chautauqua County Route 80, opposite the Bain Road intersection. The expansion area is located east of the existing mine, between the current mine boundary and Peterson Road right-of-way. See also the SEQR Notice in this issue.

Project Description:
 The applicant is proposing to remove incidental accumulations of man-made or natural debris which may cause damming and/or blockages of the free flow of water along approximately 10,500 linear feet of Ellicott Creek. There will be no excavation or gravel bar removal, and no blasting will be necessary. Tree limbs and brush removed as a part of this project will be taken to the Town of Amherst Compost facility located at 560 Smith Road in East Amherst. Man-made debris will be taken to the Amherst Highway Department located at 1042 North Forest Road in the Town of Amherst. The areas of the creek where this maintenance is planned are from Sheridan Drive in a southerly direction, ending at the Village of Williamsville's northern boundary, and commencing at the Village of Williamsville's southern boundary and ending at Wehrle Drive. No maintenance activity shall take place within the Village of Williamsville.
