Negative Declarations

Nassau County - The Nassau County Legislature, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant Aeration Tank Covers will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a flat aluminum covering system over the Plant's five existing aeration tanks to insure positive control over future emissions and odors. An odor control system will be installed to collect and treat the process exhaust air for the removal of odorous compounds. In addition, this project will include work to replace four chemical tanks in the Effluent Screening and Disinfection Building which are not in compliance with New York State Code. To comply with New York State Clean Water Revolving Fund procedures, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation requires that this project be treated as a Type I action. The project is located at 4th Avenue, Bay Park, Town of Hempstead.

Nassau County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a new Woodmere Middle School for the Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District, SED Project No. 28-02-14-03-0-017-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 146,227 square feet of new construction on existing property. The project is located at 1170 Peninsula Boulevard in the Town of Hewlett.

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed addition to the Islip High School in the Islip Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-05-02-02-0-007-008, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the addition of 49,363 square feet. The project is located on Union Boulevard, in the Town of Islip.

Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Planning Board, as lead agency, has determine that the proposed Reeves Golf Major Subdivision & Site Plan, may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the proposed subdivision of two parcels of about 125 acres and zoned Agriculture ĎA' into 107 single and separate parcels. One parcel shall be 2.72 acres and retain an existing single family dwelling, 105 parcels shall range from around 6,000- to 7,000-square-feet and the 95-acre (approximately) balance is to be developed as an 18-hole golf course. The petition is made in accordance with the Cluster Development portion of the zoning code. This review presumes, and has considered not only the development of the golf course, but ultimately, of 105 new single-family dwellings. The project is located on the south side Reeves Avenue, approximately 1,100 feet east of Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead Township.
