Negative Declaration

Nassau County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a New Elementary School in the Freeport Union Free School District, SED Project No. 28-02-09-03-0-016-001, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves 68,000 square feet of new construction on existing property. The project is located at 80 Raynor Street in the Village of Freeport.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Town of Oyster Bay, as lead agency has accepted a draft EIS for the proposed " Mall at Oyster Bay." A public hearing on the draft EIS will be held on January 27, 2000 at the Town Hall, Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, NY. Written comments on the draft EIS will be accepted until February 14, 2000. The action involves a Special Use Permit to allow construction of a 960,000 sq. ft. shopping center with a four-level parking structure on a 39 acre site. The project is located at the Northeast corner of Robbins Lane & Miller Place, Syosset, Town of Oyster Bay, NY

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Suffolk County - The Region 1 office of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency has accepted a draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Shelter Island Heights Property Owners Corp Sewage Treatment Plant. Written comments on the draft EIS will be accepted until February 20, 2000. The action involves a request by the applicant to increase their permitted sewage treatment plant discharge (flow) to the Peconic Bay from 28,000 gallons per day to 72,000 gallons per day. The project is located Summerfield Place, Shelter Island Heights, Town of Shelter Island.

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed addition and alteration to the Patchogue-Medford High School in the Patchogue-Medford Union Free School District, SED Project No.58-02-24-03-0-015-010. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until February 3, 2000. The action involves the addition of 187,348 square feet. The project is located at 181 Buffalo Avenue in the Town of Brookhaven.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, as lead agency has accepted a final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Land Use and Protection Plan, Montauk State Parkway Right-of-Way. The action involves modifying a license to the Town of East Hampton for recreational facilities at Lions Field to provide for additional recreational development and resource protection. The proposed facilities are to be constructed on three sites: 1) an area west of Edgemere Street, 2) the current Lions Field area east of Edgemere St., and 3) an area east of South Essex Street adjacent to the Montauk Library. The area west of the proposed soccer field will be designated as a natural area associated with Fort Pond and its protection. The project includes numerous mitigation measures to assure protection of the pond, aesthetics, the community, and pedestrian safety. The project is located in the Hamlet of Montauk, Town of East Hampton.
