 THE TOWN OF AVON HAS SUBMITTED A WATER SUPPLY APPLICATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING WATER TO LANDS IN THE VICINITY OF HENTY ROAD,LAKE ROAD, POLE BRIDGE ROAD AND LITTLEVILLE ROAD. APPROXIMATELY 4,200 LINEAL FEET OF WATER LINE WILL BE ABANDONNED, AND INITIALLY UP TO 11,400 FEET WILL BE INSTALLED. THE SOURCE OF SUPPLY IS CONESUS LAKE, AND THE WATER IS TREATED BY A FILTRATION PROCESS.

Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to expand their commercial marina capacity by dredging approximately 3,150 cubic yards of material and constructing and reconstructing ~73,100 sq.ft. of open pile dock space. The expansion will increase the marina capacity by about 85 docks, and will encompass ~193,500 sq.ft. of underwater lands held in title by the applicant. This expansion area had previously provided dockage for about 21 boats, and mooring for about 20 boats. The proposed docks and dredging have been designed to avoid the remaining undisturbed littoral zone within the marina lands. A sediment core sample was taken to a depth of 7.5', and a Semi-Volatile Analysis Report For Solids (STARS List) determined none detected. The dredging will be accomplished with hydraulic shovels, spoil will be placed in a watertight barge, taken to shore, unloaded by shovel onto trucks, and disposed of in an upland location on the premises. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Headquarters.
