Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct a multiplex movie theater building containing about 3,600 seats and 80,000 square feet, an approximately 49,000 square foot retail building, and on-site parking lots and a two- story parking garage containing a total of 814 spaces, on a 5-acre parcel located northwest of Shore Parkway and 25th Avenue in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn. The portion of 25th Avenue abutting the property would be paved according to New York City requirements to provide additional access to the development parcel. About one-third acre of the development parcel at the rear of the property on Gravesend Bay would be reserved for a waterfront walkway and plantings of native shoreline trees and shrubs. An additional nine-tenths of an acre of tidal wetland adjacent area would be restored through plantings of native species at an off-site location identified in cooperation with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
