|Positive Declaration and Notice of Scoping|
Rensselaer County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, (NYSDEC) as SEQR lead agency, has determined that the proposed Snook Bank sand and gravel mine (DEC #4-3844-00058/00001 may have a significant impact on the environmental and that a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) must be prepared. Written comments are requested on the draft scoping outline and will be accepted by the NYSDEC until COB on December 10, 1999. The proposed action involves the mining of sand and gravel from 56 acre site, removing approximately 2.8 million cubic yards of material over a period of approximately 10 - 15 years. The project is located in the Town of Schodack
