Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a Mined Land Reclamation permit modification for the exchange of 4.7 acres within the Life of Mine boundary, a portion of which contains federally regulated wetlands, for another 4.7 acres of non-wetland property adjacent to the current Life of Mine boundary. This exchange will not result in a net increase of the Life of Mine area. No changes in operating procedures or reclamation objective are proposed. The quarry is located in the Town of Lewistown in Niagara County. The Department has made a tentative determination and is seeking comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement for which a permit is sought.
