Notice of Public Meeting

Revision to the Unit Management Plan for the Pepperbox Wilderness

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) is asking the public for input prior to developing a revision to the Pepperbox Wilderness Unit Management Plan (UMP). The wilderness is comprised of approximately 22,560 acres in in the western Adirondack foothills in the Town of Watson in Lewis County, New York, and the Town of Webb in Herkimer County, New York. The area is scattered with numerous small ponds, streams and wetland systems.

An informational meeting will be held to solicit public feedback on the development of the UMP on February 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the NYS DEC, Region 6 Lowville Sub Office, 7327 State Route 812, Lowville, NY 13367.

Written comments are also welcome and will be accepted, by mail or e-mail, by the contact person from February 27, 2019 through April 11, 2019. Additionally, an online survey is available for the public to provide input: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GW6XZW6.
