Tree Cutting Notice

Tree Removal for Expansion of Laurel House Parking

The action involves the removal of 61 trees along with their stumps to facilitate expansion of the Laurel House Parking area. This construction project is included in the approved 2015 Unit Management Plan Amendment for the Kaaterskill Wild Forest. Tree cutting will be in compliance with LF Policy 91-2 on Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees and Other Vegetation on Forest Preserve Lands.

The project is located in the Kaaterskill Wild Forest in the Town of Hunter, Greene County, New York.

Negative Declaration

Greene County - The New York State Thruway Authority, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Capital Region Welcome Center will not have a significant adverse environmental impact.

The New York State Thruway Authority (NYS TA) is proposing a project to construct a Capital Region Welcome Center at I-87 NB MP 127.2, New Baltimore, Greene County, New York. The Project will be constructed on NYS TA land within the I-87 corridor, specifically within the infield for the existing ramps to the New Baltimore Service Area from the northbound side of I-87. The project includes a new Welcome Center building that will house restrooms, vending services, informational kiosks and a Taste NY Merchandise Area. The building site will include sidewalks connecting the parking areas to the Welcome Center building, a play area, pet comfort area and other applicable site amenities. Asphalt parking areas for passenger cars and buses will be provided. Parking for tractor trailers and fuel for all vehicles will continue to be available at the existing New Baltimore Travel Plaza. Access to the Welcome Center will only be from the existing I-87 northbound ramps to the existing New Baltimore Travel Plaza.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Rensselaer County - The East Greenbush Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed East Greenbush Technology Park, Part 2. The Final EIS is available from the East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike; the East Greenbush Community Library, 20 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY and on line at: eastgreenbush.org.

The action involves the expansion of the existing Technology Park and Planned Development District to accommodate a mixed use of office, research and light industrial buildings with associated parking.

The project is located Mannix Road and Tech Valley Drive in the Town of East Greenbush, New York.
