Project Description: Construction of a 32-foot x 31-foot two-slip boathouse (992 square feet in footprint) with rooftop deck and related dredging of the lake bottom of Lake Placid (maximum volume 90 cubic yards). To minimize impacts to wetlands and volume of dredging, the boathouse is proposed to be located 10 feet off the shoreline on its east side and 21 feet 1 inch off the shoreline on its west side.

Project Title: Kevin Mero - Mountain Forest Products

Project Description: The project involves the expansion of a previously authorized sand and gravel extraction. The mine expansion will involve increasing the open pit area from 6 acres to 10 acres, all within the previously-authorized limits of life of mine. Operations are proposed to be increased from seasonal to year-round use with hours of operations to be Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Project Title: Adirondack Mt. Land, LLC

Location: Kushaqua Mud Pond Road in the Town of Franklin, New York.

Project Description: A subdivision of 138.63 acres into four lots and the construction of one single family dwelling with on-site wastewater treatment system on each lot. Lot #1 is 31.7 acres in size, Lot #2 is 68.65 acres, Lot #3 is 25.14 acres and Lot #4 is 13.14 acres in size. Wetlands are located on each of the four lots, but no wetland impacts will be involved.


Negative Declaration

Washington County - The Town of Easton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed BJ Farm Inc. Major Resubdivision #04-17 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The proposed application is to create one new lot for the purpose of building a single family residence. The project is located on the south side of General Fellows Road in the Town of Easton, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft Generic EIS and Public Hearing

Essex County - The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (NYS ORDA), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed 2017 Amendment to the 2004 Whiteface Mountain Unit Management Plan. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on January 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whiteface Mountain Base Lodge. Written comments on the Draft Generic EIS will be accepted until February 9, 2018.

The action involves a proposal for Whiteface Mountain in the 2017 Unit Management Plan (UMP) Amendment to include the replacement and extension of the Bunny Hutch Lift with related ski trail work, construction of a new intermediate Trail 12A on Little Whiteface, installation of a Base to Base transfer lift (conceptual action), replacement and extension of the Bear Lift, replacement and extension of the Freeway Lift, creation of additional parking at Bus Lot, creation of a formal drop-off at Bear Den, replacement of culverts behind NYSEF building with a bridge, examine options for a snowmaking reservoir (conceptual action), add mountain biking trails from Mid-Station and install a people mover between parking lots and Base Lodge (conceptual action). The purpose and need for the UMP Amendment is the on-going improvement and modernization of facilities at Whiteface that will add to the public accessibility, increase user safety and enhance recreational pursuits while simultaneously complying with the Adirondack Park state Land Master Plan and Article XIV of the New York State Constitution.

The project is located at 5021 NYS Route 86 in Wilmington, New York.

A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gore Mountain Base Lodge. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 9, 2018.

The action involves a proposal for Gore Mountain in the 2017 Unit Management Plan (UMP) Amendment to include the construction of a new ski trail connecting Burnt Ridge and the Base Lodge; widening of Echo and Twister trails; widening of Sunway and other green trails served by Lift 3; addition of a new triple or quad chair from Northwoods Lodge to Lower Sunway; the construction of dedicated shuttle lanes; expansion of the NYSEF building; reconfigure maintenance to place a groomer garage and fueling station adjacent to the Sunway Trail; enlargement of the snowmaking reservoir; construction of a single-track bike trail loop for the Town trail at the top of Little Gore; and the development of a hiking center based out of the Northwoods Lodge.

The purpose and need for the UMP Amendment is the on-going improvement and modernization of facilities at Gore Mountain that will add to the public accessibility, increase user safety and enhance recreational pursuits while simultaneously complying with the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan and Article XIV of the NYS Constitution.
