Project Title: Town of Saranac

Location: Nashville Road, Town of Saranac, New York.

For Adirondack Park Agency: Comment Period Ends: 01/18/2018

Project Description: The project involves the importation of stone to the site and use of a portable crusher to process stone. On-site operations will occur between June 1 and September 30 each year. Crushing is proposed during the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday after September 15. The original proposal to expand the limits of mining has been withdrawn.

Saratoga County - The Saratoga Springs Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 24 Caroline Street Apartments will not have a significant adverse environmental impact.

The action involves a new, mixed-use addition and alteration located on the 24 Caroline Street and 68 Putnam Street parcels. The project, upon completion, will consist of a total of six apartment units (2 more than existing) and two commercial spaces.

The addition, with a footprint of 1,180 sf, contains two floors of commercial space, two apartment units, and a central circulation core. The majority of the addition is located on the 68 Putnam Street parcel, the former location of a restaurant which has since burned down. The balance of the addition is located on the 24 Caroline Street parcel, where there is existing construction to be demolished.

The four apartments within the existing building shall be renovated, maintaining a total of four apartments in this building. As a result of the interior renovation, four additional windows are proposed on Putnam Street. A small roof deck with shade structure is proposed on the existing roof. The project anticipates lot line consolidation of the two parcels, both currently owned by the applicant.

The project is located 24 Caroline St/68 Putnam St; corner of Caroline and Putnam Streets, one block east of Rte9/50.

Saratoga County - The Saratoga Springs Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Station Park will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The proposed action is a mixed-use development that will include senior housing, senior assisted care, a hotel, office space, residences, and retail.

Though not part of this application, there are also proposals for additional development on adjacent parcels. Adjacent developments will also be mixed-use and include residential and commercial development.

There have been holistic studies undertaken for utility and traffic analysis, taking into account the effects of the development on all four parcels. Specific information will be provided for this proposed action.

The project is located South of Station Ln, North of Washington St, East of the Amtrack RR tracks, in the City of Saratoga Springs (Tax ID 165.-2-70).
