Negative Declaration

Queens County (Queens) - The New York State Gaming Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Resorts World Casino - New York City Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact.

The action involves a 721,116 gross square foot (GSF) expansion of the existing Resort World Casino New York City (RWCNYC) by Genting New York, LLC (doing business as RWCNYC). The proposed expansion includes two hotels, with spa and fitness center, lobby, retail, dining, expanded gaming area (including 600 additional gaming positions beyond the 6,050 previously approved), event/function space, back-of-house space, and mechanical and electrical space. Site improvements, including landscaping, parking and interior roadway modifications, as well as utility improvements are also proposed. The project is located at 110-00 Rockaway Boulevard, Jamaica, Borough of Queens, City of New York (Block 11543, Lot 2).

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing - Revised

Kings County (Brooklyn) - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Gowanus Canal Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facilities Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Spector Hall, 22 Reade Street, New York, NY 10007. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until January 29, 2018, 5:00 p.m. A hard copy of the Draft EIS is available at the following locations: NYC DEP, 59-17 Junction Boulevard, Flushing NY 11373. The NYC DEP is undertaking a project to comply with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Record of Decision requirement to construct two combined sewer overflow (CSO) facilities. This Project is part of the federally required remediation of the Gowanus Canal under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA or Superfund), and will be reviewed in accordance with the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR), and the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP).

A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was prepared in September 2017 for the purpose of examining and disclosing potential environmental impacts of the Gowanus Canal CSO Facilities project. The NYCDEP is inviting comments on this Draft EIS from other government agencies, local municipalities, public officials, and the public. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held January 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Spector Hall, 22 Reade Street, New York, NY 10007. Written comments regarding the Draft EIS should be submitted directly to the NYC DEP, Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis at the address presented at the end of this notice. Written comments will be accepted until January 29, 2018, 5:00 pm.
