Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Mastics Moriches Shirley Community Library Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New Mastics Moriches Shirley Community Library will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new approximately 60,000± GFA public library on a site of 17±, (5± acres to be leased from the Town and remaining 12± acres to be secured under an inter-municipal agreement) located in the northeasterly portion of a parcel of land owned by the Town of Brookhaven in Shirley, NY, (SCTM 0200-976.80-7-p/o 3). The project will be located in the Town of Brookhaven, Shirley, NY.

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed North Sea Beach Colony Erosion Control District will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the establishment of a Beach Erosion Control District (BECD) to implement beach nourishment with compatible sediment to restore a beach suffering from chronic loss. The project includes an initial placement of 12,000 - 15,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and annual maintenance of sand for the first five years. The source of the initial sand placement is an excess stock pile at Towd Point and the source of the annual maintenance is proposed to be the annual dredging of North Sea Harbor Inlet by Suffolk County. The proposed nourishment is to be placed both above and below mean high water (MHW). The project is located at Terminus of North Sea Road and fronting on Little Peconic Bay, North Sea.

Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Islip, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed R Squared Development LLC (Island Hills) may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves amendments to Chapter 68 (Zoning) of the Town of Islip Code, including the zoning map, to establish the Island Hills Planned Development District ("IHPDD") and a change of zone from Residence AAA District to a newly established IHPDD in order to permit the construction of 1,365 apartments and accessory commercial uses. The project is located at the Southeast corner of Lakeland Avenue and 11th Street, Sayville (458 Lakeland Avenue).
