The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new SPDES permit (#NY0066478) for an existing surface discharge from Days Inn (Outfall No. 001) for an average daily flow of 25,000 gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary wastewater to Clove Brook, Class C(T). The applicant seeks issuance of a new permit as the previously issued SPDES has lapsed (permit expired 12/01/2005). No increase in discharge volume is proposed; no modification to the existing wastewater treatment system is proposed. The project is located on 2247 Greenville Turnpike in the Town of Deerpark. Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application for a new State Pollution Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit, pursuant to 6NYCRR Part 750, for a discharge of 5,000 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste water to a subtributary of Lattintown Creek [Water Index No. H-103-1-1a, Class C]. The new wastewater treatment system will service the proposed Pet Hotel and Day Care facility. The facility is considered a non-significant minor industrial facility, Discharge Class 04.

A draft SPDES permit with DEC proposed effluent limits and monitoring requirements is available for review at DEC Region 3 headquarters in New Paltz. DEC seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. Substantive comments on these permits or requests for a hearing or both must be submitted in writing to the contact person listed below.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has prepared a draft permit and has made a tentative determination to issue a modification to State Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (SPDES) permit (NY0022446) for the surface discharge of treated wastewater to Moodna Creek, a class C water. The permit was renewed September 22, 2017 and action levels for bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate and total phenols, unchlorinated were changed to limits with interim limits and a schedule of compliance. The schedule required completion of plans for a facility to meet the new limits in 12 months and construction of the facility in three years. The draft permit proposes 36 months for submission of plans and completion of construction in 59 months.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application to modify a SPDES permit (#NY 0235393) to increase an existing surface discharge from 20,000 gallons per day (gpd) to 45,000 gpd of treated sanitary wastewater from the Hudson Valley Foie Gras wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) into the Middle Mongaup River, Class B(t). The project will expand the facility's WWTP to meet anticipated product demand, and includes construction of a new Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system with new digester and aeration tank. The proposed modification will also add a new total dissolved solids (TDS) effluent limit in order to meet requirements of the Delaware River Basin Commission. The project is located at 80 Brooks Road, west of its intersection with Old Route 17 in the Town of Liberty. A draft permit is available for inspection and comment at the regional office.
