Project Description:

The Town of Byron proposes to construct the Water District No. 7 to serve residents along several roads in the Town of Byron to allow service from the Monroe County Water Authority's Lake Ontario source. The project includes crossing of the regulated Class A tributary Otter Creek (of the Albion Reservoir) along Maple Street in two locations, and one location at Kams Road, by either horizontal directional drill or in the dry crossings, and crossing adjacent area of regulated Freshwater Wetland KN-12 along Eagle Harbor Road, as well as federal wetlands along these two roads by open trench method.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Evaluation using a Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form or other information has concluded that the proposed activity will not impact registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to replace the deteriorating Interchange 43 steel and concrete bridge over NYS Thruway (I-90) at Route 21 in Manchester, Ontario County. The vertical clearance of the replacement bridge over the I-90 mainline will be increased by 2.5 feet along with minor horizontal alignment differences due to the new bridge's placement immediately alongside the old. The project site will disturb approximately 0.02 Acres of the adjacent area of NYS Freshwater Wetland CG-3.

To help stabilize approximately 110 feet of Lake Ontario shoreline, the applicant proposes to place a 1 to 4 ton armor stone revetment in front an unprotected eroding bank. Portions of the rock revetment will be at or below mean high water level and will extend up to 18 feet towards the landward.
