Negative Declaration

Chemung County - The Horseheads Central School District as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Horseheads Central School District 2030 2017 Referendum will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the Horseheads Central School District to undertake a capital project which will include various renovations, upgrades, and site work improvements at the District's sites and facilities. Proposed work at the bus maintenance facility will include mechanical system upgrades, technology and lighting upgrades, exterior building improvements, exterior door and overhead door replacements, and parking lot reconstruction. Work at the elementary schools will include roof replacements, mechanical system upgrades, technology upgrades, lighting improvements, door replacements, main entrance security improvements, building exterior improvements, playground improvements, and traffic flow/parking lot improvements. Proposed work at the Middle/Intermediate School will include roof replacements, mechanical system upgrades, technology and lighting upgrades, main entrance security improvements, exterior door replacements, playground improvements, expansion of the cafeteria with kitchen upgrades, parking lot and traffic flow improvements, and upgrades to various classrooms. Work at the High School will include roof replacements, mechanical system upgrades, technology and lighting upgrades, relocation of the main entrance with security improvements, new main office/guidance office/nurse suite, exterior door replacements, parking lot and traffic flow improvements, renovation and expansion of kitchen and cafeteria, classroom additions and renovations, new library, and new multi-purpose stadium. The project is located throughout the Horseheads Central School District in Horseheads, New York.
