Project Description: The action involves a material amendment to Permit P2011-0061 to expand the life-of-mine area and increase daily truck trips in the fall (to stockpile material for winter season and supply Town with road sand).

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Herkimer, Lewis, Oneida and St. Lawrence Counties - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) and the New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as co-lead agencies, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Generic Travel Corridor Unit Management Plan. Public hearings on the Draft EIS will be as follows:

NYS DOT has completed a Draft EIS for the management of transportation corridors in the Adirondack Park. The document, a Generic Travel Corridor Unit Management Plan (TCUMP), Volume I, looks broadly at travel corridors within the Adirondack Park, identifies common transportation management problems, and offers solutions that are consistent with the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.

The Adirondack Park contains 28 state highway "travel corridors"; individual travel corridor unit management plans will be completed as Volume II. The Generic TCUMP addresses issues that are universal to all Adirondack Park travel corridors and provides an outline for individual travel corridor plans. It will serve as a planning guide for state highway travel corridors in the Adirondack Park pending the development of individual travel corridor unit management plans.

The project is located throughout the Adirondack Park of New York State.
