The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes expanded treatment areas, as well as one new treatment area, for the management of invasive species Phragmites australis, within Sterling Forest State Park. Aquatic pesticide Rodeo (active ingredient: glyphosate) is proposed for continued use and in expanded areas within NYS Freshwater Wetlands SL-8, as well as a new site within NYS Freshwater Wetland SL-9. This is part of a larger habitat management effort to improve habitat for the Golden-winged warbler, a species of special concern.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes disturbance to the adjacent area of freshwater wetland D-3, class 1, associated with removing grass lawn and installing a native vegetative buffer around an unnamed pond (NYS Water Index Number H-31-P 44-36-15-P 124b, class B). The project also involves removing granite stone steps and installing a bluestone step path. Roof and footing drains will be piped underground to discharge within the proposed vegetative buffer. Fencing will be installed in the rear yard and extend to the state-regulated freshwater wetland boundary. The applicant proposes to selectively replace wooden boards and install an additional beam on two existing bridges on Stone Hill River (NYS Water Index Number H-31-P 44-36, class C(T)).
