Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install two 8" diameter wells to a depth of 200 feet for the purpose of providing irrigation throughout the cemetery. Each well shall be equipped with a pumping capacity of 200 gallons per minute (gpm). The facility is located at 31 Hitchcock Lane, NCTM#10/348/17,19,29,30,31 Old Westbury, North Hempstead Town Nassau County.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for the discharge of approximately 20,000 gallons per day of untreated filter backwash wastewater to an on-site recharge basin from the Suffolk County Water Authority-Blue Point Road Pumping Station located on Blue Point Road Holtsville. The applicant plans to introduce an iron and manganese removal filtration system and discharge an average of 20,000 gallons per day of untreated filter backwash wastewater into an on-site recharge basin. Refer to this application by the application number listed above and SPDES number NY0279951. The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer. The following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3-mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.
