Project Description:

The applicant is proposing excavation and fill below the mean high water level of Little Salmon Creek, a Class C navigable stream, in association to a bank stabilization project that will also prevent undermining and damage to Creek Road in the Town of Genoa. The proposal includes the following: excavation within the floodplain and installation of cofferdams to make a bypass channel to isolate the work area; removal of a portion of a point bar; installation of five rock vanes to divert water away from the eroding bank; and placing rock rip rap and planting vegetation on the eroding section of the bank for stabilization near Creek Road.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The applicant proposes to chemically treat an area of approximately 1 acre within a forested wood lot for the invasive plant species Glossy Buckthorn. A backpack sprayer will be used to apply "Gordon's Brush Killer" EPA Registration #2217-952 directly to the targeted plant species. A portion of the project will impact the regulated adjacent area to Class 1 NYS Freshwater Wetland RI-70.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a rock revetment along approximately 120' of Lake Ontario Shoreline to protect an eroding bluff. A base of four to six ton keystones will be embedded below grade along the shoreline above the Mean High Water Level. Behind the keystone 100 cubic yards of setting stone will be placed on which 300 cubic yards of armor stone will be built on geotextile fabric, on a one to two slope, and will be constructed approximately 12 feet high up the bluff.

The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
