The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for an existing discharge of 6,800 gallons per day of treated laundry wastewater to groundwater from a primary treatment plant at the applicant's facility located at 48 Bayville Avenue, Bayville, NY. The applicant plans to operate a laundromat. Refer to this application by the application number listed above and SPDES number NY029854. The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer. The following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3-mile radius of the applicant's facility: Village of Bayville and Mill Neck Estates.

The applicant proposes to fill a boat slip with 60 cubic yards of fill; construct a new bulkhead (8') across the slip; construct 64'9" of bulkhead within 18" for the section north of the slip and construct 59'9' of bulkhead to the south of the slip where apparent low water and apparent high water are landward of the proposed bulkhead. Dredge up to 10' off the proposed bulkhead and place 90 cubic yards of dredge material landward of the proposed bulkhead. Project Description:

The applicant proposes to remove, replace and reconfigure chain link fencing in Napeague State Park to restrict access to the dilapidated Smith Meal Fish Factory site for safety purposes. The only soil disturbance will be excavation for new post holes for the new sections of fence. Where complete fence removal will occur, posts will be cut at ground level and footings will remain in place.
