Project Description:

The applicant proposes to operate a solid waste management facility processing up to 431,995 cubic yards of uncontaminated soil and 20,000 cubic yards of trees and brush per year at the existing registered facility that currently handles trees, brush, asphalt, brick, concrete and dirt at an amount of up to 10,000 cubic yards per month and 75,000 cubic yards stored on-site. The current on-site stored volume of 75,000 cubic yards is proposed to be reduced to 27,749 cubic yards. The facility is located at 45 S. 4th Street, Bay Shore, Town of Islip, Suffolk County Tax Map # 500-198-5-1.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
