Negative Declaration

Nassau County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Replacing a Pitch N Putt Golf Course with an Adventure Experience Park will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an amended negative declaration of a previously reviewed project to construct a zipline adventure park in the footprint of a Pitch N Putt golf course. The revisions to the project are minor in scope and include use of the full 10 acre golf course footprint and an increase in zipline tower height from 45 foot to 60 foot. The revisions to the project will result in increased access to the site by the public, provide an improvement to the habitat in a degraded location, and provide an opportunity for environmental education. The project is located in the Jones Beach State Park at 1 Ocean Parkway in Wantagh, New York.
