Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue an Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS) Department Initiated Modification of Ontario County's Honeoye Lake County Consolidated Sewer District Sewage Treatment Plant SPDES Permit SPDES Permit which authorizes an existing discharge of 0.5 million gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater to Honeoye Creek, a waterbody that was recently reclassified from Class D to Class C, from a municipal treatment plant at the applicant's facility located at 8696 Main Street (Route 20A) in Honeoye, NY. The draft permit proposes revised effluent limits for fecal coliform, the addition of summer pathogens, winter CBOD5, summer Ammonia, pH, and Total Residual Chlorine (TRC) limits, a compliance schedule for disinfection and overflows, and a mercury minimization program. As a tentative determination, the department seeks comments prior to making a final decision.
