Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a stacked block retaining wall to control an eroding bluff along the coast of Lake Ontario. The wall along this property will be 135 feet long and will have a base layer of 6.5-ton blocks keyed approximately two feet below grade. Three rows of blocks will be stacked on top of the keystones and will be cambered back towards the back. Geotextile fabric will line the preexisting bank, and the void between the new wall and bank will be backfilled with NYSDOT 620.03 tamped light stone fill. A permanent road to access the shoreline will be constructed at the northeastern end of the wall. This project will encompass three properties and will be approximately 335 feet in total length.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jun 08, 2017.
