Negative Declaration

Rensselaer County - The Town of Sand Lake Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Sand Lake Zoning Code Adoption will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption by the Town Board of a new Zoning Code (Chapter 250) and amendments to other Town Code chapters (Chapter 190, 210 and 225) that reference the zoning code and Site Plan Review. This action implements the Vision, Goals and Objectives of the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Sand Lake which sets forth policy recommendations pertaining to Future Land Use; Hamlet Centers; Rural Character, Open Space, and the Environment; Economic, Housing, and Community Sustainability; and Infrastructure and Community Services within the Town. The action involved the comprehensive update of the existing zoning ordinance adopted in 1972 and replacing it with a modern law utilizing modern planning tools and land management best practices that reflects the recommendations of the Town's Comprehensive Plan. The project is located throughout the Town of Sand Lake, New York.
