Saratoga County - The Saratoga Springs Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Pitney Meadows Community Farm Planned Unit Development will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a planned unit development (PUD) zoning classification for an 11.69 ± acre segment of the locally referred to Pitney Meadows Community Farm. The reason for the PUD over this portion of the referenced lot is the development of a mixed-use agricultural resource center to advance best practices in agriculture and while fulfilling many of the recommended actions of the City of Saratoga Springs's 2015 Comprehensive Plan for the preservation and sustainability of agriculture and agriculturally-related land uses. Additionally, the PUD will aid in the fulfillment of protecting open space as per Chapter 110 of the City Code entitled Environmental, Parks, Open Areas and Protection Program. Primary land uses will include community gardens, orchards, agri-education, museums, the keeping of livestock, and processing of locally grown agri-products. Complementary uses for the area within the PUD will include events, classes and festivals, bed and breakfast inn, distilleries, retail outlets for agri-products and related goods, outdoor/indoor entertainment, caretaker housing, eating and drinking establishments, sugar shack, and a bistro/cafe. The project is located at 213 to 235 West Avenue in the City of Saratoga Springs, New York.
