Ontario and Yates Counties - The Village of Rushville Village Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the Village of Rushville for improvements to the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and associated sewer collection system. The Project Engineering Report prepared in December 2014, evaluated the existing conditions of the publicly owned treatment works (POTW) and WWTP and determined the following 1) inflow and infiltration (I&I) into the collection system at unidentified locations, leading to excessive flow that may exceed the capacity of the WWTP pumping equipment; 2) inefficient treatment at the WWTP, particularly due to plugging of the sand filters. The proposed project improvements will upgrade the WWTP to provide more effective and efficient treatment capabilities to treat present and future flows and loadings from wastewater sources. Proposed improvements at the WWTP include, but are not limited to the replacement of the filter media, addition of a final clarifier, reconfiguration of the filter distribution piping, replacement of pumps, installation of sensors and measurement devices, and other miscellaneous improvements. The WWTP is located at 6 Warehouse Road and also will involve the replacement of 900 linear feet of sewer main along North Main Street and 1,000 linear feet of sewer main between Warehouse Street and Railroad Avenue all in the Village of Rushville, New York.
