Public Notice

Draft Piseco Lake Campground Unit Management Plan

The public is invited to comment on the draft unit management plan (UMP), which will guide management of Point Comfort, Little Sand Point and Poplar Point Campgrounds for the next 5 years. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) will consider all public comments as it finalizes the management plan for the campgrounds. The campgrounds are located in the Town of Arietta, Hamilton County.

The Draft UMPs for each campground is posted on the NYS DEC web page under their respective Campground page at: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7825.html.

Copies of the draft plan are also available on computer disc and may be obtained by calling (518) 457-2500.

NYS DEC will host a public availability session to receive input on the draft plan and answer questions about campground management on May 3, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NYS DEC Region 5 Northville Office, 701 South Main Street, Northville, NY 12134.

Public comments on the draft campground UMPs will be accepted through May 15, 2017, and can be submitted by mail or e-mail to: Josh Houghton, NYS DEC - Bureau of Recreation, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-5253, Email: campinfo@dec.ny.gov.


Draft Caroga Lake Campground Unit Management Plan

The public is invited to comment on the draft unit management plan (UMP), which will guide management of the Caroga Lake Campground for the next 5 years. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) will consider all public comments as it finalizes the management plan for the campground. The campground is located in the Town of Caroga, Fulton County.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) will consider all public comments as it finalizes the management plan for the campground. The campground is located in the hamlet of Onchiota in the Town of Franklin, Franklin County.

Project Title: Town of Brighton

Project Description: The action involves continued operation and expansion of an existing sand and gravel mine to provide sand for the Town of Brighton's winter road maintenance program. The project includes excavating, screening and stockpiling sand on site. Excavating, screening and stockpiling typically occurs during late August or early September during a one week period from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The material is trucked from the site by the Town Highway Department to maintain Town and County roads during storm events throughout the winter.

Washington County - The Town of Easton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Michael Jennings/Borrego Solar Major Re-subdivision 01-17 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposed application to create 4 new leased lots for the purpose of creating 4 new solar farms, one farm per parcel. The project is located on the west side of Windy Hill Road in the Town of Easton, New York.
