Project Description:

The applicant proposes to place 112 CY of fill for 48 dock anchors (concrete blocks) in Lake Champlain, in order to secure a docking facility expansion. The 48 new anchor blocks sizes include 24 anchors at 6'x6'x24" and 24 anchors at 6'x6x18". The proposed docking facility expansion will have 104 slips, with 26 moorings (the existing docking facility had 32 slips, with 26 moorings). NYS OGS also has jurisdiction over this proposal.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Aquatic vegetation management in Cossayuna Lake using aquatic herbicides Aquathol K (active ingredient: Dipotassium salt of endothall) and Navigate (active ingredient: 2,4-D) to control Curlyleaf pondweed (Potamogeton crispus) and Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) in high-use areas of the lake. Treatment area to encompass +/- 56.05 acres and includes portions of DEC regulated Freshwater Wetlands CO-12 (Class 2), CO-14 (Class 2), CO-49 (Class 2) and CO-50 (Class 2) and the regulated adjacent areas.

Project Description:

The applicant has proposed a modification of their Mined Land Reclamation permit to add an additional +/- 3.0 acres of reserves area to the permitted Life of Mine. The area to be added is located to the west of the existing mine site, in a wooded area between the mine site and McIntyre Street. The reclamation objectives for the site will be consistent with those documented in the previously approved Mined Land Use Plan, with the site being reclaimed to open grassland.

Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no adverse impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
