Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a SPDES permit renewal, transfer and modification for the Cottage Hotel facility at 1390 Pittsford Mendon Road in the Town of Mendon. The facility is a restaurant operation which treats waste water using an aerobic system and sand filter. No expansion or changes to the system are proposed, however a flow rate modification from 900 gallons per day to 1,500 gallons per day is proposed. Discharges are to Irondequoit Creek, a Class B(T) steam. The draft permit includes proposed monitoring for flow, BOD, suspended solids, pH and ammonia. The Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant, Upstate Cellular Network d/b/a Verizon Wireless, is proposing to construct a 195 foot tall self-support tower and 11.5 foot by 16 foot equipment platform within a 70 foot by 70 foot fenced compound in the south-east corner of the existing 75 acre parcel located at 4050 Ridge Road in the Town of Fayette. The proposal also includes a 20-foot wide by 1,100 foot long extension of an existing gravel driveway to provide access to the project site. 500 linear feet of this driveway would be located with the 100-foot regulated adjacent area of a class 2 NYS freshwater wetland (RO-10).
