Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install and operate a temporary well point dewatering system to facilitate the new construction of a main substation at the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant. The dewatering system will have approximately 23 deep wells installed to a depth of 60 feet below grade. All water shall run through three (3) of the proposed 18,000 gallon settlement tank before being discharged into the storm drain which will ultimately reach East Rockaway Channel. The maximum discharge will not exceed 4,320,000 gallons per day (3000gpm). Duration of dewatering shall be for 12 months. The project is located at 2 Majorie Lane, East Rockaway, Hempstead Town, Nassau County.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install 175 feet of stone armor covered with 1,100 cubic yards of beach compatible sand to renourish a dune and to install removable beach access stairs. The facility is located at the West Lake Drive parking lot located at the northern terminus of West Lake Drive, SCTM#300-6-1-7, Montauk, East Hampton Town, Suffolk County, at the shoreline of Block Island Sound and Lake Montauk.
