Jamestown Falls - Raquette River Access Project - Tree Cutting Notice

The Racquette River Access project will improve access and facilities at Jamestown Falls along the Raquette River. The project involves rehabilitating the Jamestown Falls Access Road; the construction of a 6 car parking area and car top boat launch; the installation a Facility ID sign; improvement of an existing campsite to universal access standards; construction of a universal access privy; installation of a universal access picnic table and the installation of an informational kiosk. Forty six trees have been identified by a forester and marked for removal to provide room for facility improvements. This project is covered in the approved Unit Management Plan for the Raquette Boreal Management Unit. Tree cutting will be in compliance with Lands and Forests Policy 91-2 on Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees and Other Vegetation on Forest Preserve Land.

The project if located in the Raquette River Wild Forest in the Town of Colton, St. Lawrence County, New York.

Notice of Award Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority

On September 19, 2016 the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority awarded a contract to Fred Burrows Trucking and Excavating, LLC pursuant to section 120-W (one hundred twenty-w) of the General Municipal Law for the transportation of solid waste to the Oneida-Herkimer Landfill. The validity of this contract or the procedures which led to its award may be hereafter contested only by action, suit or proceeding commenced within sixty days after the date of this notice and only upon the ground or grounds that: (1) such award or procedure was not authorized pursuant to that section, or (2) any of the provisions of that section which should be complied with at the date of this publication have not been substantially complied with, or (3) a conflict of interest can be shown in the manner in which the contract was awarded; or by action, suit or proceeding commenced on the grounds that such contract was awarded in violation of the provisions of the Constitution.

Negative Declaration

Jefferson County - The Sackets Harbor Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Privacy Fencing will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves Zoning Application #16-38, the construction of new privacy fencing on the property. The project is located in the Village Residential and Historic Overlay Districts at 119 West main Street in the Village of Sackets Harbor, New York.

Jefferson County - The Sackets Harbor Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Minor Landscape Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves Zoning Application #16-39, the removal of existing shrubs and replacing them with a palette stone planting under the existing signage. The project located in the Village Center and Historic Overlay Districts at 101 Monroe in the Village of Sackets Harbor, New York.
