The Suffolk County Department of Public Works proposes to replace 14,200 feet of failing outfall from the Bergen Point Sewage Treatment Plant in West Babylon to Gilgo State Park on Jones Beach Island. The 14,200 feet of failing outfall will be replaced 80 feet to 100 feet below the bottom of Great South Bay and Cedar Island.

The applicant proposes to construct a fish passage and eel passage at "Dam 720 - Woodhull's Pond". The proposal would require clearing of vegetation in freshwater wetland and the area adjacent to freshwater wetland for installation of the structure. Overall, the project is proposed to restore and improve the ecosystem and fisheries in Peconic River by providing passage for target species, including Alewife and American Eel. The project proposal is located at "Dam 720 on Woodhull's Dam" located on "Little River" which is a tributary of the Peconic River, Moriches-Riverhead Road (Co. Rte. 51) in Southampton.
