Project Description:

The applicant proposes to modify an existing water withdrawal permit. Total water withdrawal will be reduced from 14.4 million gallons per day (MGD) to 8.22 MGD. Well 2 will be replaced with Well 3. Withdrawals from the Hudson River will be reduced from 8.64 MGD to 2.0 MGD. Project is located on US Route 9W, Ravena, NY.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

DEC Commissioner Policy 29, Environmental Justice and Permitting (CP-29)

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to add 0.63 acres to the Life of Mine (LOM) to account for an area where topsoil has been stored and part of the existing haul road which had not been included previously, for a total LOM of 5.90 acres. The use of a portable crusher and ripping will be continued. Blasting will be permitted. A Drilling and Blasting plan has been prepared. The site is located on the north side of County Route 20, east of Prink Hill Rd., Town of Durham, Greene County.
