Proposed Amendment to Wetland Maps

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands Act) of the NYS ECL and 6 NYCRR Part 664 that New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) proposes to amend portions of Chautauqua County Freshwater Wetland Map 2 of 25. The wetland amendments are located in the Towns of Sheridan and Hanover. The wetland amendments consist of additions of 2 unmapped wetlands and revisions to the boundaries of 2 wetlands. Maps showing the proposed revisions are available at the clerk's office in the town and county where the change is taking place, as well as at the NYS DEC - Region 9 Allegany Sub Office, Allegany, NY. Written comments on the accuracy of the proposed changes to the maps may be mailed to the contact listed below through September 30, 2016. No activity subject to regulation under the Freshwater Wetlands Act may be initiated without a permit from NYS DEC within the area that is the subject of the proposal including the 100 foot wetland adjacent area.

Negative Declaration

Niagara County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Prospect Park Pedestrian Entrances and Bus Access Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves proposed improvements to the pedestrian and vehicular entrances and bus access area at Niagara Falls State Park to improve the flow of traffic for pedestrians, cars and buses near the Prospect Park entrance. The proposed project includes: rehabilitation of pedestrian entrances to the park at Old Falls Street and Mayor O'Laughlin Boulevard; enlargement of an existing bus access and drop off area from 2 to 5 buses; changes to turning lanes and queuing areas between the Riverway and Prospect Street; new signage; and pathways and landscaping improvements within the park. The project is located in the Niagara Falls State Park at Prospect Street and Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls, New York.

Wyoming County - The Town of Warsaw Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Planned Unit Development (PUD) Senior Housing Complex will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the zoning of four lots with a PUD District to include Business and Residential units with a new construction of a 120 unit Senior Housing Facility to include open space, road and parking. The project is located in the Town of Warsaw, New York.
